FDIC Launches Program Encouraging Banks To Offer Small Dollar Loans

Date June 29, 2007

I’m not a big fan of payday loans. They can charge interests higher than credit cards, but I understand that sometimes, people are in a hole without a lot of options. So this could be really good news for these people.

Thanks to The Consumerist for reporting that the FDIC Launches Program Encouraging Banks To Offer Small Dollar Loans.

This will represent cheaper alternatives for those quick and small loans.

I rather ask a family member for the money, before I walk into these places.

Or better yet, whatever I need it for, I will just let it go.
