Grocery Changes - Going Organic

Date July 16, 2007

We’re jumping in the green wagon. We finally checked out a Whole Foods Market close to our home and we loved it.

As expected, things are a bit more expensive (10-30% more), but we decided to go for it and start buying organic vegetables and fruits. I’m expecting our grocery expenses to go up $50 per month, but I’m going to wait a few months before I update my budget (which is already $450 per month just for groceries - Ouch!).

I’ve always been uneasy with my kid eating strawberries and grapes because of all the chemicals they use in regular farms and I think I’m actually going to welcome this change. I feel much better knowing my kid is eating healthy fruits. We’re still trying to convince him to eat any veggies at all :)
