Chaos
August 2, 2007
Things have been quite chaotic these past few weeks.
My son was born on the 16th. He was born with a tie tongue, so it was really hurting his mom when breastfeeding. We finally figured the problem and clipped his tongue, but her breasts were already really damaged.
A week later she started having fevers and we thought she had an infection, but the fever went away.
Now her milk supply is drying out. We took our son to the nurse yesterday and he actually lost some weight, so we’re going to have to complement with some formula until her milk comes back. She’s freaking out. I think this is all due to her recent stress and once she calms down, the milk supply will come back.
All of this, plus the fact that I have been back to work this week, and I’m still trying to take care of our oldest as much as possible is really stressing me out.
The stock market losing some 700 points this week also didn’t help my sanity.
But hopefully we’ll have calm waters after this storm has passed and everything will be groovy again.
It’s how people handle times like these that determine the kind of person you are.
