Hacked

I got hacked!
A friend of mine was telling me his site was hacked. There were tons of links to a pharma site hidden in his footer.
So I checked this site, and there it was in the source of the page. Tons of links to this pharma site. I’m not listing the url of the site, since the whole point is to not give him any links.
I’m still not sure where the flaw is (if it’s a bug in Wordpress or my hosting company).
For now, I updated Wordpress from 2.5.1 to 2.6 and will check it again in a few days. Hopefully it was a wordpress issue and not a flaw in my hosting company.

whoa, that’s horrible. darn what do you do after your site gets hacked? i’m going to go make a backup copy of my blog right now. i don’t why people do stuff like that or send spam. does everyone realize how much better this world would be if we treated people the way we want to be treated. that is so not a nice thing. hope your friend can get his site back up. did you do a manual upgrade to wp 2.6. i did a manual for one of my blogs and for the other one i will do through my hosting company, the 1 click button.

That’s terrible. It makes you wonder how it happened. I need to check mine and back it up too. Thanks for the great reminder.
